The Walker County Water & Sewerage Authority (WCWSA) was created in 1977 by a legislative act by the General Assembly of The State of Georgia.
WCWSA serves a population of about 30,000 and continues to grow.
The WCWSA is governed by a Board of Directors which consists of five members. WCWSA is a government entity independent of the Walker County Government and Walker County Tax dollars. WCWSA operates from revenues collected monthly from water customers. Our main goal here at WCWSA is to maintain a safe drinking water supply and an adequate amount of fire flow protection to our customers with the least amount of service disruption at the lowest cost possible.
WCWSA utilizes three ground water sources to supply its customers.
Source 1: The Walker County Water Treatment Plant (WTP)
Source 2: The Coke Oven Wells (COW)
Source 3: The Kensington Wells (KEN)
WCWSA also owns and operates a wastewater collection system and treatment facility.
For more information regarding WCWSA please contact our office at (706) 820-1455 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
